I'm Writing A Novel | My Desire To Write
I have to admit that writing has always been inside of me. I remember writing short stories in elementary school with my friends. The cool thing to do was to fit as many celebrities into your story as possible. Jackie Chan made many an appearance in my work at age 8.
Now that my body and mind have aged, I find myself still having the need to get words on paper. I have written a couple hundred blog posts on various topics, and also assembled a short story titled A Song For You, which I wrote when I was 18. Life has brought me to my most recent project, and I am happy to let you know that I am working on a novel.
The process has already begun, but I will be bringing you along as I continue to do what I have been doing since I was 8 years old sitting in class with my friends.
"And as imagination bodies forth
The forms of things unknown, the poet’s pen
Turns them to shapes and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name."
– William Shakespeare (from A Midsummer Night’s Dream)
"We forgot that art can stand alone. If what you make has a voice and a purpose it does not need to be supported up by the opinions of others. It has enough to brace itself. It has enough to speak its voice and feel important."
- Jarod Dickson (from Art for Art | Stop Creating For Everyone Else)
